Hey! I’m Kate, just your run of the mill C.H.U.D. (Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller) and all around fan of music that kicks ass! I’ll be posting music reviews live from the C.H.U.D. cave. If you like metal, melee, and music, we might get along.
Message to the Masses are a five member screamo band from Tuscon AZ. “Means to an End” is their second album. Each member of the bad has their own history, and have played for established bands before joining forces. These guys know what they want their sound to be, which is good because the quickly establish their own musical identity. It’s a good album to listen to while you get ready for the day, or maybe when you need a pick me up after a long day of underground dwelling. Lyrically, they say that they write about things that happened to them, and want to inspire others to follow their own dreams. That’s pretty much the soundbite everyone gives, but we can let that slide.
Message to the Masses sounds so much like bands I already
stalk on Instagram enjoy, like Motionless in White and Asking Alexandria. The mixture of throaty growls and sweet singing makes this C.H.U.D. salivate just thinking about it! The album just pulls you in and ends all too soon. Normally I have to listen a few times before I decide if I like a song/album. With Means to an End, I knew after the first listen that these songs would quickly become part of my C.H.U.D. Cave playlist.
